Let’s make Monday Mornings cool again! Each Monday I shall be sharing little nuggets of Well-Being to help get your week off to a good start. This week’s Me-Time treat is this rather fetching (not for everyone) colouring print. Something a little bit cheeky, but also full of fun and relaxation.
Swearing is good for you
Research into the hypoalgesic effect of swearing has shown that the use of profanity can help reduce the sensation of pain. Studies also show that swearing actually releases endorphins, which lowers stress and anxiety levels. So Mindful colouring with sweary quotes is actually a fantastic way to chill out!
Free to download: De-stress colouring print (if you don’t have access to a printer, you can print it for free in any UK library).
As you can imagine, this print went down a storm at my Mindful Colouring Class. It might just be me, but there is something quite soothing about sweary words. For most though, it would be a little bit remiss to say such things out loud. But… you can still get the same desired effect by colouring those sweary word in. It does feel quite naughty but also strangely stress relieving.
Dear Stress: Kiss My Ass
Created with love by someone who really appreciated it (Mrs H)
How to get the most from your cheeky print:
Create a Calming Environment where you can colour without distractions. Surround yourself with elements that promote relaxation, such as soft lighting, calming music or scented candles.
Allow yourself to mindfully engage with the colouring process. As you colour you may notice your breathing becoming deeper and more rhythmic, allowing you to enter a state of deep relaxation. This can help alleviate tension and promote a sense of inner peace.
Colouring provides a creative outlet for self-expression. This can feel incredibly empowering and can help you connect with your inner self. Embrace the freedom to experiment with different colour combinations and let your imagination run wild.
As you work with your colouring print, repeat the words in your mind, reinforcing positive thinking and promoting a sense of well-being. Allow them to uplift and inspire you as you immerse yourself in the colouring process.
