Christmas Community Vibes

How a Mindful Colouring Club was born
2

In a little Town in Manchester in an old, rather majestic looking Victorian building, you will find the most amazing bunch of adults. We gather every week for around 2 hours to indulge the senses with a totally nourishing mindful colouring session.

It is a big part of my stress care routine and it seemed like it would be an ideal group activity to introduce some calm and comfort for those that had been struggling after the isolation of lockdown three years ago.

The Community Table

Well it turned out to be a lifeline for many and I had no idea that it would still be running to this day. The group continues to flourish and goes from strength to strength. Friendships have been forged and a community spirit has blossomed into something quite beautiful.

Doors are always open

Whoever ventures through the doors, they are always met with a warm welcome and an invitation to sit down and practice the art of mindful colouring. There are people that have been with us from the beginning who really appreciate the joy of being part of something special.

Whether a regular or a newcomer, the group session is an opportunity to embrace the support of a loving community and for a short time escape into a joyful, tranquil space, where batteries are recharged and endorphins released!

Community Hope

It has been incredible to see the group develop its own mindful energy and super identity. I have watched in awe at how complete strangers from all walks of life have knitted together so effortlessly to reach out to be seen and heard.

I say this because during the lockdown, for many of us this was a time of fear and detachment from our fellow humans. So I have been mightily heartened to have played a small role in restoring faith and hope into the community once more.

Christmas Reel

We recently enjoyed our 2nd Christmas Party as a group, and in keeping with the Christmas theme, thought we would enjoy some festive themed colouring during our last session of the year. What better way to showcase some of the talent than with a Christmas Reel to bring some cheer to who ever needs it!
